Guest Designing at Addicted to CAS #134 - Birthday card

Hi There! I'm thrilled and honored to be guest designing at Addicted to CAS this week. I'm so happy to be chosen as the winner of Bird Challenge and was offered to do a guest spot. Thank you so much Barb, for this great opportunity! This week's code word is BUBBLES!

I love to make birthday cards and this peeking bunny birthday card is really a quick one to make! First, I stamped and colored the bunny from Gerda Steiner - Hoppiness set with distress ink. I cut out the image with the coordinating die. There are more peeking bunnies stamps in this set but this little nerdy one caught my attention.

Then, I stamped the wood fence image on the bottom of a white base card and did a simple Copic coloring. Next, I used Penny Black Bubble dies to cut out two speech bubbles. I picked my favorite color combo for the bubbles. The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Fillable Frame Set #6. I stamped them on the speech bubbles and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Once done, I adhered everything together on the base card. That's all! :)

I hope you enjoyed this card! Hop over to Addicted to CAS for great inspiration by the DT and do play along with this fun challenge! Happy crafting!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Guest Designing at CASology #295 - Believe

Hi There! I’m so excited and happy to be guest designing at CASology this week. I had won the Abstract Challenge and was kindly invited to guest design. It feels so great to be a part of the challenge that I look forward every week. Thank you so much for having me over! :) The cue word for this week challenge is BELIEVE

I love to create sentiments using alphabet dies and today, I am sharing a cute CAS card with just the sentiment 'believe' using MFT Die-namics Little Letters dies.

Using a sentiment as the focal point makes a great CAS design!

I usually layer the letters to have a little dimension on the card. So, to create the first layer, I adhered a red chevron washi tape on a white card and die cut the letters. Then, to add a shadow effect, I die cut the letters from a black card and adhered to the patterned letters.

Next, I stamped and colored the bear from MFT Bitty Bears set using distress ink. I replaced the letter 'I' with this cute little bear. Then, I mounted the letters and image on a white panel card which I made earlier using MFT Wonky Stitched Frame die. Finally, I adhered the finished panel on a black base card. That's all! :)

I hope this card inspired you! Do stop over at CASology this week for some awesome inspiration from the DT and join the challenge! Can’t wait to see how this cue inspires you!

I’m also playing along in the following challenges...
HLS April CAS Challenge - Chevron
AAA Cards - CAS Game #112 - A Favorite Technique

Be Happy

Hi There! Today, I'm sharing a quick card which I made for the current MFT Color Challenge #90. I love the combination of the soft colors and here is how I used those colors on my card.

First, I inked up a white card stock with the Abandon Coral distress ink. Then, I used the happy sentiment die from MFT Cause For Celebration to die cut the word. Then, I layered it on top of another piece of happy word with Hickory Smoke distress ink. That gives a little dimension and gray shadow to the word. Next, I moved on to stamping the little birds from MFT Happy Hippos stamp set. I directly stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic Markers.

Then, I pulled out the Be Happy sentiment from the same stamp set and stamped it on top the word Happy. For the background, I simply inked it with Salty Ocean distress ink. I finished off the card by adding some sequins and some details on the word and birds using white gel pen. That's all! Hope you like this simple CAS card.

Feel Better Soon

Hi There! I've been little busy setting up new routine with my little one and also took some time (days :P) to clean up my workspace. I'm glad to be back again with this floral card which I made for the Altenew - March 2018 Inspiration Challenge. This is my first time taking part in Altenew challenge. I've fell in love with the color choice by Virginia with the beautiful click from her recent trip. Here is my take!

I used Altenew - Floral Motif stamps set for this card along with some distress inks. I used masking technique to create the layers of flower and leaves. I stamped and heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder and colored them with distress inks. Next, I used the MFT Wonky Stitched Frame die to cut out the panel and adhered it on a kraft base card.

I stamped the sentiment on a black card stripe and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and layered it on a kraft card stripe. I finished off the card by adhering the sentiment using foam adhesive. Coloring flowers has been always a great challenge for me. I'm so happy to achieve something out of my comfort zone and I love how this card has turned out. Hope you like it! :)

I’m also entering this card into the following challenges...
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Floral Frenzy
HLS March Watercolour Challenge

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to have productive crafty days! 😌

Happy Birthday - Get Your Fiction On

Hi There! I had a little time to craft last night and I made this CAS birthday card inspired by the current Your Next Stamp - Sketch and Color Challenge #84. I absolutely LOVE the color palette and used three colors for this card. I also played along with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches #328 challenge which is perfect for a CAS design.

I used the nerdy bookworm from YNS - Get Your Fiction On stamp set as the focal point of the card. I stamped and colored the image with Copic Markers. I added some details with white gel pen and glossy accent on his glasses. I used Simon Says Stamp Lemon Zest to ink up the background. Next, I stamped the birthday sentiment from the same stamps set and white heat embossed it. To finish off the card, I added some sequins. A quick card for today! I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice day!

Thanks for always being there!

Hi There! I'm here to share a CAS card which I made for this week's Color Throwdown #483 challenge. I just love this color combination of Coral, Green and Kraft. I'm also playing along this week's CASE this Sketch #262 challenge. Here is my take!

First, I blended the Abandoned Coral, Mowed Lawn and Vintage Photo distress inks on a white card stock and cut out the feathers using Simon Says Stamp Feather Craft Dies. To give a little dimension, I layered the feathers and spritzed some water on it. Then, I stamped on the sentiment from Inkadinkado - Thank You Words stamps set and finished off the card by adding a strip of black and white washi tape adjacent to the sentiment. That's all for today.

It's always fun to play along with sketch and color challenges! Great way to bring back the creative mojo! :P I hope you like my card today.

It's time to party! - Birthday card

Hi There! I’m playing along with the MFT Color Challenge #88 and MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #374 today. I kept away all my dies and made this simple one layer birthday card featuring adorable bears from MFT BB Bitty Bears. This particular set is one of my most favorite and I really enjoyed playing with them. I did a simple masking technique for my card! So, here is my take!

First, I drew a frame on the base card and lined the bear stamps. I picked all the birthday themed bears to add extra fun to the card. Using my MISTI tool, I stamped and colored the bears with Copic Markers. Next, I inked up the background with Salty Ocean distress ink. I combined two sentiments from the Bitty Bears set and stamped directly on the base card. That’s all for today!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week ahead!

You're Purrfect

Hi There! I'm stopping by to share a cute action card inspired by the sketch from this month's Paper Smooches Monthly Challenge - Sketch! I'm glad they are back with another fun challenge based on fan's voting! It's been a while since I played with pattern papers. As soon as I saw this sketch I decided to make a card with layers of pattern papers. Here is my take!

First, I stamped and colored the cute fat cat from Paper Smooches - Chubby Chums and set him aside with a mini action wobbler on his back. For the background, I used a light brown shade paper with large polka dots from DCWV - The Basic Stacks paper Pad. To that, I attached one fourth inch of black and white diagonal stripe paper from My Mind's Eye - Charmed paper pad.
Next, I cut out a flag banner from American Crafts double sided paper pad using flag die from Newton's Nook - Frames & Flag die set. I cut another flag banner out of Kraft card and stamped the background with tiny paws from the same stamp set using ColorBox Dark Brown ink. Finished off the card by stamping the sentiment using StazOn black ink. Visit my Instagram @niftycrafty to view the action part of this card! That's all for today. Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Happy Holidays

Hi There! Today, I’m sharing a cute holiday scene card using the 'off-the-edge die cutting' technique. I came across this cool technique on Jennifer McGuire's YouTube channel recently and thought of give it a go. I was totally inspired by her technique! It was so easy to make this card with the help of her step by step, crisp and clear instruction.

For this card, I used the little car stamp from Lawn Fawn - Home for the Holidays set and ‘happy’ sentiment die from Happy Lawn Cuts die set. First, I drew a pencil line on a Neenah Solar white cardstock and arranged the dies of the stamp and sentiment. I positioned the car wheels and edge of happy sentiment die right below the pencil line. Then, I placed my cutting plate lined up with the pencil line and run it through my Cuttle Bug machine. Next, I used my MISTI tool to stamp the coordinating car image and colored it with Copic marker. For the happy sentiment, I die cut the sentiment and inked the top with Candid Apple distress ink and Hickory Smoke. I adhered it on the partially die cut sentiment.

Next, I moved on to create the road. I masked off the car image and inked up the bottom part of it with Hickory Smoke and Black Soot distress ink. Then, I die cut the grass border using Lawn Fawn - Grassy Border die and inked it up with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress ink. I pulled the holiday sentiment from Lawn Fawn - Winter Penguin set and stamped it below the happy sentiment. To give a little dimension to the overall card, I adhered the partially die cut card along with the grass border card on to the base card using foam tape. I finished off the card by adding some stitched line on the road using white gel pen. I absolutely enjoyed making this card with this great technique.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good day!

I'm Feline Good with you!

Hello There! I'm back again with my fourth and final guest post for this month. I had a wonderful time being a guest designer for Newton’s Nook! Huge thanks to Jennifer, Samantha and the team of Newton’s Nook Design for giving me this great opportunity. My sincere thanks and love to all your nice comments on my cards. It’s been a great month for me!

For today's card, I decided to play with the Newton’s Sweetheart stamps set again. I couldn’t resist playing with these lovey dovey kitty stamps on this set. This time, I picked the stamp where Newton and his sweet girlfriend sharing a bottle of drink. I stamped and colored them using distress inks. For a change, I made them to drink Orange Milkshake 😋. Then, I cut them out using the coordinating die from Newton’s Sweetheart Die Set.

To have a monochromatic look , I used Kraft as the main color for my card. I used the Darice brick wall embossing folder to emboss the Kraft card and inked the edges using distress inks. I just love how the bricked texture turned out! Then, I used the stitched rectangle die from Frames & Flag Die Set to create the focal panel. I did a background stamping on it using the little paw stamp from Newton’s Sweetheart stamps set.

Next, I used two sentiment banners from Frames & Flag Die Set to create a panel for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from Newton’s Sweetheart stamps set on the stitched banner and adhered it on top the plain one and embellished with two gold brad. Finished off the card by adding a little red heart on top of the kitties. I hope you’ve enjoyed my take on this card!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope to see you all again. Have a great day! Hugs! :)

MFT Creative Olympics - Speed Cardmaking

Hi There! I'm so happy that I managed to make a card for the final round of MFT Creative Olympics - Speed Cardmaking. YAY! It was a great challenge and it's totally FUN! I made this simple best wishes card in 17 minutes and 5 seconds. Here is my take!

For this card, I picked a polka dots pattern Paper from Recollection Paper Pad and cut it out using the MFT Wonky Stitched Border. Then I inked the edges using distress ink. Next I die cut two different sizes of circles using MFT Stitched Circle die set. For the sentiment, I used the 'best wishes' die from MFT Cause of Celebration die set. I die cut the sentiment twice and adhered them together for added dimension. I finished off the card by adhering the sentiment on the stitched circle frame. That's all!

Check out the making video of this card on my IG @niftycrafty I'm so happy and proud to participate in all four events of MFT Creative Olympics! Best wishes to all the participants and huge thanks to MFT for hosting such a fun and challenging event!

Thank you so much for stopping by! For more information, check out MFT Blog. Have a nice day!

MFT Creative Olympics - Crafty Biathlon

Hi There! I'm back with a card for the third event of MFT Creative Olympics - Crafty Biathlon. I decided to make a shaker card with masking technique. For this card, I used the fun yeti images from BB Beast Friends stamp set.

First, I stamped the yeti on the right and masked it. Next, I stamped on the other yeti and colored them using Copic Markers. Then, I did a partial die cut using the MFT Stitched Circle die to make a little window for them to stand. I placed the coordinating die of the yeti and run through my die cutting machine to just cut the top part of it. Since, I did a little masking this part was little tricky for me. Therefore I had to die cut them one at a time. I'm so happy that it did work!

Then I used the MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame die to cut the front card and inked up the frame with distress ink. To make a shaker card, I adhered a piece of vellum on the back of the front card. Next, I inked the center part of my base card with distress inks. I placed some sparkling sequins on the inked area and adhered the front card on to the base card with foam adhesive. As I used vellum for the window it kinda mutes the background color. But I love the minty iridescent look through vellum. Then I fussy cut a piece of white card to make a snow base for the yetis and inked the edges with distress ink. Finished off the card by stamping the sentiment from BB Beast Friend stamps set. That's all. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by! For more information, check out MFT Blog. Have a good day!

Love you more than naps!

Hi there! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I’m back again with my third card for Newton’s Nook. For this card, I used the Newston’s Naptime stamps set. This set is definitely an eye catcher! I’ve fell in love seeing him napping on top of the cozy blankets. He is too cute!

I wanted him to be the focal point of my card. So I decided to use bright colors on the layers of blanket to make it pop. I stamped and colored the image using distress ink and die cut the image using the coordinating Newton’s Naptime die set. Next, I moved on to making the background. I wanted a contrast background for this card. So, I cut a stitched rectangle panel using Frames & Flags die set and inked it with Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey distress inks. Then, for the cloud I used the Stitched Cloud Border die set and inked it up with Salty Ocean distress ink. I stamped the sentiment on the cloud panel and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I tried the inlaid die cutting technique to make a window with a little background scene for this card and it turned out great. I made the window frame using scalloped edge and stitched rectangle dies from Frames & Flags die set. Basically the negative part of this will be the frame. I made four frames and glued all of the layers together for added dimension.

I inlaid the background panel to the center of the frame which I made earlier. Since the frame was made of four layers, it give a little depth to background and then I inserted a piece of acetate sheet on top of the frame layers to give the window a glassy look. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture it on my picture. I finished off the card by adhering Newton on the foreground. That’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed my card today.

Thanks for stopping by and see you all again next Monday with my final card for Newton’s Nook. Have a great week! Hugs! :)

MFT Creative Olympics - Freestyle Winter

Hi There! I'm sharing a cute birthday card which I made for the MFT Creative Olympics second event. It's a freestyle round and it has to be in winter theme. I used this week's sketch from MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #372 for inspiration. Here is my take!

I stamped and colored the cute bear and little gift box from BB Bitty Bears stamps set using distress inks. I die cut the images using their coordinating dies. Then, I stamped on the tree from MFT Modern Trees stamp set on a piece of card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Next, I inked the background using distress inks. I used the blending tool to blend the three soft colors and create a wintery sky ombre.

Once done with the background, I used the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle to cut out the card. I also inked the same colors on the base card. Then, I adhered the bear next to the tree and stamped the sentiment directly on the card. I used the 'A little something for you' sentiment from the BB Bitty Bears stamp set. I love this sentiment as it goes well with the bear holding a small gift on his hands. To finished off the card, I used the glitter pen to make the ground filled with little snow. That's all! I hope you enjoyed my card.

Thanks for stopping by! For more information, check out MFT Blog. Have a great day!

MFT Creative Olympics - Stamping Slalom

Hi There! Time to have more fun with MFT goodies! I’m so happy and excited to take part in the MFT Creative Olympics Challenge - Stamping Slalom. It’s a special challenge where you have to make a card with three or more of MFT stamps set. That's sooo fun!! I made this card as soon as I saw the post on their blog. But it took some time for me to update here due to few errands. Busy mommy! :P Here is my take on the first event!

First, I stamped the little teddy from Playful Pups stamps set and masked it. Then, I stamped the girl with gift box from Pure Innocence Happy Birthday to You stamps set followed by the balloons from BB Happy Hippo stamps set. I heat embossed all the images with clear embossing powder and colored them with distress inks. I did little paper piecing on the gift box ribbon using pattern paper from MFT True Blue Houndstooth paper pack.

For the sentiment, I create an ombre background on a white card stock using Festive Berries and Spun Sugar distress ink. Then, I placed the birthday die cut from the MFT Cause for Celebration dies set and cut out the word. To give a little dimension, I made another piece of it using pink card stock and layered the ombre word on top of it. Then, I picked the Happy sentiment from BB Bitty Bears stamp set and stamped it on top of the card. I adhered the birthday sentiment and finished off the card by adding some dots on the balloons using gold and silver gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by! For more information, check out MFT Blog. I’m hoping to make one for the second event too! :)

Le Meow...

Hello all! It’s already Valentines week! :) I'm back again with another Valentine's Day card. I made this cute love scene card using Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set. This is such a fun set with lots of adorable and sweet images.

For this card, I stamped and colored the eiffel tower, hot air balloons, the cute Newton and his girlfriend using distress inks. To add little shine, I heat embossed the tower using clear embossing powder. Then, I cut the images using their coordinating dies from Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set. Next, I used the stitched rectangle die from Frames & Flag Die Set to create a focal panel and picked a white card stock as the base card. To create the sky background, I cut a piece of white card stock using Sky Borders Die Set and inked the background with Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed distress inks. I did the same for the base card but used only Salty Ocean distress ink.

Then, I framed the scene by adhering the images. It was the fun part of making this card. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the sky panel and added tiny heart above Newton. Finally, I mounted the entire focal panel onto a the base card using foam tape. I had so much fun coloring the images on this set and love how sweet this card turned out

Thanks again for stopping by! Happy Valentine's Day!! Love you all to the max! Have a great week with your loved ones. See you all on next Monday with another card. Hugs! :)

You Have My Heart

Hi There! Today, I'm sharing a little action card featuring a lovely bear from MFT BB Bitty Bears stamp set. I made this card inspired by this week’s MFT Color Challenge #87. It's one of my favorite color combo. Here is my take!

First, I stamped and colored the bear with distress ink and cut it out using the coordinating die. To create the frame, I used the MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame die and inked it with Picked Raspberry distress ink. For the background, I gently inked the Staggered Heart stencil with Spun Sugar distress ink. Next, I create an ombre on a white card using Hickory Smoke and Black Soot distress ink. Then, I placed the letter dies from MFT Little Letter die set and cut out the letters. I die cut the letters again on a black card stock and adhered the ombre letters onto these black letters to give a little shadow and dimension.

Next, I stamped on the sentiment from the same stamp set and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I finished off the card by adding a little action wobbler on the back of the bear and placed it along with the letters to form the word 'LOVE'. That's all for this card! Hope you like it.

I'm also playing along...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! :)

Newton's Sweetheart

Hello there! I’m super excited to be the Newton’s Nook Guest Designer for the month of February. Huge thanks to the Newton’s Nook family for inviting me. As we are in the month of love, here I’m sharing a lovely Valentine’s Day card featuring Newton and his sweetheart from the newly released Newton’s Sweetheart stamp set. I love the images and cute sentiments on this stamp set. They are super adorable and perfect for the theme of love.

For this card, I made the background using the bokeh technique (photography term) with distress inks. I used three colors, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Shaded Lilac. First, I blended the distress inks using the blending tool and colored the card completely. Then, I used the Tumbling Hearts Stencil and white pigment ink to create the bokeh effects.

I gently dabbed the white ink on to the different sizes of hearts using sponge dauber. I made some lighter and blurry. I overlapped some of them and make it little darker. I did it randomly all over the card and let it dry. This is such a fun technique and I love how it turned out. Then, I cut it out with a scalloped edge die from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

Once I’m done with the background card, I stamped the image of kitties on a TimHoltz distress watercolor card stock and colored them using distress inks. I cut them out using the coordinating Newton’s Sweetheart Die Set. I adhered the image onto the background card and stamped on the sentiment from the Newton’s Sweetheart Stamp Set. Next, I adhered the final background card to the base card and finished off by adding some teal dimensional dots. That's all for today :) I hope you like this card!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week ahead and I’ll catch you on next Monday with another card.

Celebrate with Hippo

Hi! Hope you all are doing great. Today, I'm sharing this cute birthday card featuring cutie hippo from My Favorite Things - BB Happy Hippos. It's one of my most favorite birthday themed stamps set. I used this week's MFT Color Challenge #86 and MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #369 to make this card.

I stamped the images and colored them using distress inks. Then, I cut them out with the coordinating dies. I love the three little tweety birds from this set. They are super adorable!

Next, I used the MFT Small Brick Wall stencil to create a bricked background. I inked up the stencil using two different shades of green distress inks. Then, I used MFT Stitched Circle die to cut out two circle frame window and inked the edges with distress ink. I adhered a piece of vellum in between the two circle frames to give a subtle brick background.

I made the 'celebrate' sentiment using Little Lowercase Letters dies. I adhered the letters on a piece of vellum using the glue pen. I finished off the card by adhering all the elements in place. I'm also entering this on the MFT monthly Birthday Project - Celebrate Good Times

Hope you all like it and thank you so much for stopping by! :)

Great Job!

Hi There! I'm sharing a quick card today. I love kraft color and it's been a while since I used kraft as a base for my cards. I love using kraft as it goes well with any primary colors. Here is one for you...

I did a background stamping using the little school themed images from Paper Smooches - Smarty Pants stamp set. They are just adorable. I dabbed the edges with distress ink and set as the base card. Next, I stamped on the professor image from the same stamp set and colored him using Copic markers. I have a very limited count of copic markers on hand :| . I think I did a better job! :P

Then, I had this pre-cut speech bubble in my stash so I used it to stamp on the sentiment. Finished off by adding some glossy accent on his huge bubbly eyes. A quick and simple card! I hope you all like it!

I'm playing along...

Thank you so much for stopping by! :)

I'm here for you...

Hello! Hope you all had a great holiday. Wish you all a happy new year! :) We are blessed with a baby boy recently so I took a little break from crafting and blogging. Here I'm back with my first card for this year!

I colored the two little bears from MFT BB Bitty Bears using distress inks and cut them using coordinating die. I used the sentiment from the same stamps set. Then, I create a frame using the Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame die from MFT. It's one of my most favorite die frame which was in my wish list for a l-o-n-g time. I just had it recently and here I'm using it for this card :)

Next, I create a rainy background by blending distress inks and splashed few drops of water. I trimmed out a yellow color side panel and used the Staggered Hearts stencil to create a background full of hearts. I picked  a similar color of distress ink to fill in the the little hearts. I love how it turned out. Looking so lovely :)

That's all for this card. Hope you like it! :)

I used the color palette from the MFT color challenge and the sketch from MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge. But, now it's too late to post this card on the sketch challenge as it was over. Anyway, I'm still in the color challenge :)
